In this project, I reexamined how we build, but also how we unbuild. In contrast to man-made, nature uses only a handful of standard building blocks called amino-acids which then become proteins, complex molecules, cells, organs, and finally living things. They are completely modular and all the parts get reused. Inspired by this, I explore how we could build and more importantly unbuild in a similar fashion, maintaining true modularity and sustainability. Much like pixels on a digital screen, or cells in a body, I imagine a world where materials become self-organized and digital. Download a model from the internet and your chair would change into a new design. Once it outlives its usefulness, it gets un-built so it can reassemble into the next thing you might need.
